Froedtert Hospital is an academic medical center affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin. Our campus is located on the western edge of Milwaukee, where we provide Adult Level I Trauma Care to eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Our team of over 150 professionals work with a state-of-the-art clinical information system and the latest developments in automated medication delivery and administration.

Directs all pharmacy services on the campus of our progressive and rapidly expanding academic center. Responsible for overseeing the pharmacy residency program and the design and operation of the medication use system within the hospital, affiliated ambulatory clinics and three retail pharmacies. Provides a strategic plan and vision for the clinical initiatives, as well as the financial direction of the Pharmacy Dept. Additional responsibilities include administrative, clinical, human resources, drug policy, medication safety, academic, research and quality improvement activities for both inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy services. 

The Pharmacy Department, a recipient of a 2007 ASHP Best Practice Award, has the following to offer an experienced Director of Pharmacy candidate:
-  Employs over 70 pharmacists and 80 technicians
-  Pharmacist-conducted medication histories
-  Investigational drug service
-  Pharmacist-managed anticoagulation service (>1200pts/month)
-  Emergency Dept. and Ambulatory pharmacy practice sites
-  3 retail pharmacies
-  Newly implemented central fill and carousel technology
-  Fully implemented barcode med administration
-  Newly developed mail order program
-  Script Pro automation
-  New pharmacy school opening in 2009
-  School of Pharmacy clerkship sites
-  Rapidly growing residency program (6 PGY-1, 2 PGY-2)

Candidates with the following qualifications are preferred: Pharm.D. with residency (Master's degree with specialty preferred), 5-7 years of prior academic center supervisory experience, proven record of organizational success, excellent communication skills, team-oriented and strong references.
